About Me

Hi! I'm Ariana Lum—an illustrator, author, and lifelong daydreamer born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai'i, now based in Lisbon, Portugal.

Before illustration became my full-time focus, I spent over ten years as a senior graphic designer at companies like Fetch and Williams-Sonoma, building a career in visual storytelling and creative problem-solving. In 2025, I made the leap to pursue what had been calling me since childhood: creating children's books. My debut picture book, A World Within, came out that same year.

As someone with ADHD, drawing has always been the one thing that quiets my mind. It's grounding, healing, and deeply personal—which is why I'm so passionate about making books that help children navigate big emotions like anxiety, grief, and self-discovery. My work is whimsical, colorful, and rooted in the belief that kids deserve stories that help them feel seen.

When I'm not drawing, you'll probably find me doing aerial silks (yes, the circus kind—I performed in two shows in 2024), practicing yoga, or chasing sunlight.

Onboarding

We'll schedule a consultation to discuss your problems and figure out if this is a fit. If we both agree, I'll start the onboarding then send over

a contract with pricing and timelines along with the transfer of your 1st deposit.

Concepting
+ Feedback

I will do market research and present my designs for you along with feeback + iterations until we reach the right designs needed for you.

Brand Proposal + Offboarding

After all request changes are made I will send you the final brand presentation along with any design assets requested after the final payment has been made.
