Hi! I'm Ariana Lum—a graphic designer, illustrator, and lifelong daydreamer born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai'i, now based in Lisbon, Portugal.

I spent over ten years as a senior graphic designer at companies like Williams-Sonoma, Shopkick, and Fetch, building a career in visual storytelling and creative problem-solving. But my favorite projects were always the ones where I could bring a hand-drawn, illustrated edge to the work—which eventually led me to pursue illustration full-time.

In 2025, I published my debut picture book, A World Within. Creating it confirmed what I'd always known: I'm happiest when I'm drawing.

As someone with ADHD, drawing has always been the one thing that quiets my mind. It's grounding, healing, and deeply personal. That's part of why I'm drawn to work that makes people feel something—whether it's a children's book about big emotions, a brand identity for a beauty startup, or a campaign that actually stops the scroll.
My style is colorful, whimsical, and rooted in emotion. I believe the best creative work comes from genuine curiosity and a willingness to play.
When I'm not designing, you'll find me doing aerial silks (yes, the circus kind—I performed in two shows in 2024), practicing yoga, or chasing sunlight.
